Palliative Home Care Visit
With the objective of providing care, comfort, and emotional support to patients receiving palliative treatment at their homes, the NSS Unit organized a Palliative Home Care Visit on 27 May 2026. The programme was conducted in collaboration with PARAPPUR Pain and Palliative Care and The Centre for Humanity Hope Foundation, under the guidance of a doctor and a nurse, along with NSS volunteers.
The home visit programme commenced at 9.00 a.m. and concluded at 3.30 p.m., during which the team visited eight homes. The medical team examined the patients, monitored their health conditions, and provided the necessary medical care and guidance. NSS volunteers actively participated in the visits by interacting with the patients and their family members, offering emotional support and encouragement throughout the programme.
The initiative provided the volunteers with a meaningful opportunity to understand the importance of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility in community service. It strengthened their commitment to humanitarian values while highlighting the significance of extending care, dignity, and support to individuals and families in need.
