Objectives of NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) aims to develop students into socially responsible citizens. The key objectives include:

📌 Today: Over 2.6 million volunteers in 200+ universities, polytechnics, and higher education institutions.

NSS Symbol: Konark Sun Temple Wheel

The emblem of NSS is inspired by the Konark Sun Temple (Black Pagoda) in Odisha, India.
🔹 Represents creation, preservation, and release – the cycle of life.
🔹 Symbolizes continuity, movement, and change for social progress.

NSS Badge & Its Meaning

 Eight bars in the wheel = 24 hours of the day, symbolizing constant dedication.
 Red Color = Energy, enthusiasm, and passion for service.
 Navy Blue Color = Represents the cosmos, showing NSS as a small yet vital part in the welfare of humanity.
